Refund Policy

We know that spending money on a subscription is a decision you take seriously, and we deeply appreciate the trust you place in us. Rather than hide our policy in fine print, we want to state it openly and kindly so there are never any surprises. Please take a moment to read this page before subscribing.

Because a TierChess subscription unlocks immediate, unlimited access to our digital opening courses and tactics library, all payments are final and non-refundable. This includes monthly charges, renewal charges, partial or unused billing periods, and situations where you simply change your mind or find you have less time to study than you had hoped.

Once a billing period begins, the full value of that period is considered delivered the moment your access is granted, since the content becomes available to you right away. For that reason we are unable to offer prorated or retroactive refunds, even if the plan goes partially unused.

Our lessons and puzzles are digital products that can be viewed, downloaded, and learned from the instant you subscribe. Unlike a physical product, that knowledge cannot be “returned.” A no-refund policy allows us to keep our prices affordable, invest continuously in new courses, and treat every learner consistently and fairly. We hope you understand and appreciate the reasoning behind it.

While we do not provide refunds, we never want you to feel locked in. You may cancel your subscription at any time, for any reason, directly from your account settings. When you cancel, your plan simply will not renew for the next billing cycle.

You will keep full access to everything your plan includes through the end of the period you have already paid for, so you always receive exactly what you paid for — nothing is cut short.

We genuinely want you to feel confident before you subscribe. We encourage you to explore our openings and tactics previews, read the plan details, and make sure the Beginner, Pro, or Max plan is the right fit for your goals. Choosing thoughtfully up front is the best way to get the most from TierChess.

If you were charged in genuine error — for example, a duplicate charge or a clear billing mistake on our side — please contact us. While our standard policy remains no refunds, we will always review sincere concerns carefully and do our best to make things right in a way that is fair to everyone.

Where refunds are required by applicable consumer protection laws in your region, nothing in this policy is intended to limit those rights.
